This place is actually cool. Good pub food and great staff. Found it from a Groupon deal and the place is good. It might be a little under staffed, but there was a big party that came in the same time as I did. After looking at previous comments, I can say that this place isn't "thuggish". I had an overall good time. Needs a little updating but the wall to wall TV's make up for it.
Louisville's best sports bar – Celebrated my birthday at Jocks over the weekend. Met the new owner who bought me a drink for my birthday. We all ate and the food was great. Good drink prices. Karaoke wasn't too bad until the pretty bartenders tried to sing.
Irresponsible – This bar lacks all responsibility when it comes to the safety of its patrons and community. A few months ago (2011), Jock's Sports Bar & Grill served a man over $30 worth of alcohol on a Tuesday night (which everyone knows is a lot for a bar that serves drinks at the average price of $3) and then let him leave. wont ever go back!!!!!!!!!!!! – My friends and I have gone to Jocks the last couple of months, only because the first time we went in there we were greeted by a really friendly bartender named Jeanna! She treated us like family each and every weekend! We were very upset when we went up there last night and found out that the new owners had let her go!!!??? We will never be back to Jocks/shit hole! Tha block is hot. – It's Friday night and your lookin to go out with your friends, drink a few beers, and have an exciting evening. Does this sound familiar? great prices – I have to agree with some of the syuff that has been said about the atmosphere has changed. The previous owners i think had a more of friendly group of people goin up there. The bouncers were alot less violent and agressive with the previous owners, now you dont know when the bouncers feel like starting a fight or breaking up one. Jock's - not the place where everybody knows your name! – I have to agree with the previous post claiming that this bar has gone down hill. Jock's was always a great place to watch a game, but the new owner's have driven off the crowd that has kept the place in business for 25 years. I am dissapointed to see a great neighborhood bar turn it to a low class Club La Vila. plus, nice to see an honest review (see below) this must be from the owner, no customer should know this much info about a bar like Jocks. I LOVE THIS BAR – Don't listen to the girl in the previous review. Jocks is an awesome bar. It is a really nice place. She is just a cry baby. She hangs out with a bunch of wanna be gangsters. They came in the bar looking for trouble, and eventually everyone got tired of them trying to bully people. Her friends got thrown out. I have never seen bigger cry babies in my life.
