After more than 15 years in the military and numerous moves, I have extensive experience working with leasing agencies and always make it a priority to leave rentals clean and well-documented. I rented with J and K Property Management for six years and had an overall excellent experience. At the end of my tenancy, there was a minor issue during the move out process that I raised as a concern. One of the owners, Kelly, personally took the time to call me, thoroughly research the situation, and address it with care. She was respectful, understanding, and committed to making things right. A month without have a locked front door is not only ridiculous but its unsafe. Multiple calls, messages and finally after 3 weeks maintenance comes out only to say they have to order a part and no word one when that is supposed to be in.
Use another managaement company if you can. This is my first time using a management company. We had to use JK because rentals were difficult to find when we moved to the area. This one is awful. Rude to my family and I. They call and text you frequently because the people that work there are disorganized and don’t speak with each other. When I called and asked for the manager to see if some of these notifications could be consolidated she was rude to me and threatened to cancel my lease. They towed our vehicle, and despite our pleas to void the tow fee based on what we understood to be the rules for parking here they refused and were incredibly demeaning and rude to us. Their spots are not marked and where our vehicle was towed from we thought was a valid area to park. We will be leaving at the end of our lease and do not recommend that anyone looking for a place use them. Typical grimy slum lords. Also the stairs to our apartment are rotting and uneven beyond belief.
