Jimmy’s of Chicago opened for business on December 19, 2008. Owners, Kerry and Zalena Kersting wanted to bring to Gilbert, AZ the great Italian food they grew up on back in the Midwest. Kerry is originally from St. Louis, MO and came to the Phoenix area in 1975. Zalena (maiden name Moccio) met Kerry when she came to Arizona for college, leaving behind her Chicago home and its great food. Jimmy's Of Chicago is great quality, fast, and reasonable! My family and I just recently went to this restaurant and it was absolutely wonderful! The staff was friendly and worked together to help all tables. We ordered the sirloin stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer...they were a bit pricey but very delicious! We also got the Eggplant Parmesan and Italian Beef sandwich which were both worth getting again. All the food was very flavorful and meal portions were large.
