Blacks not wanted! – It saddens me mainly because, as someone whose worked in the hospitality industry for years, I've always felt at home in a nightclub setting. I know how hard servers, bartenders, and bar backs work in order to please the customers. And I make it a point to leave generous tips of at least 20%. As a regular I enjoyed the live music and atmosphere (in spite of the overpriced drinks). However I began to notice a disturbing pattern of behavior amongst the bartenders and doormen. Blacks are routinely given the... read more

A horrible Jazz Festival experience here... – I ordered food and two drinks to watch a Gaslamp Jazz fest act. As soon as I finished and the music started they said I had to order more to be able to stay. The waitress blamed it on the manager. The manager just kept saying "you're good, you're good". He never could explain why I was hassled. I get the minimum order requirement, but a meal and two drinks in 40 minutes and they wanted MORE? I will never go there again. It's a shame they won't care, but never never again!!!

Suck my ass – This place was by far the worst place I have ever eaten. If you enjoy soggy, expensive food, with horrible service, and an outrageous tab, then...THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!!! I saw duck's with botchulism squirt feces all over the pavement at the San Diego Zoo and would rather get on my hands and knees and lick it up than ever eat here again. Sounds harsh? No really. I mean it. I am writing this as a favor to any future visitors to San Diego. If you are looking for a dining experience of lifetime, travel a littl... read more

Old school crowd Not my crowd. I went on a weekday and there were way to many old people there. The music was not that great either.

alright place to chill their drinks aren't too expensive. there's a lot of older people, business type crowd. the music they play is good. i came here a couple times and once they had a go-go dancer, that was pretty cool.

Older Crowd, But Can be Fun The crowd here tends to be older people, but it can be fun. They have lots of places to sit and chat with friends and there's a dance floor also. The music wasn't really my type of music, but it's alright. If you want a more college type of crowd, go to Aubergine's or Belo.

LOUD... but fun We had a late dinner downtown and headed to Jimmy's Loves for a few drinks. The music was very loud, we couldn't really talk to our friends. It wasn't our type of music either, so it made for an even odder experience. The place was packed, though. It looked like everyone was having a good time.

Poor service, blase food, tourist magnet – We live downtown and have tried Jimmy Love's several times each year (as far back as when it was Johnny Love's before they had to change their name) , but after our last visit last week we are unlikely to return. We try to support locally owned businesses, but as years have passed, the service has deteriorated, the food become sub-standard and the attitude more about who else they can squeeze in and get to buy the most drinks. We are all for making a profit - but not at the expense ... read more

Great Food, Service, and Night Life – I don't understand how anyone could say anything bad about Jimmy Love's! Jimmy Love's is like the heartbeat of the gaslamp. It doesn't matter where I have lived; whenever I am in the neighborhood I love to venture to Jimmy's where the asmosphere is always comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the night life is amazing. I love hanging out with my friends and dancing to all the songs that EVERYONE knows. Just last weekend my girlfirend had her 24th birthday bash there... what a blast! Th... read more
