The facility itself is decent, and I genuinely enjoy swimming here, but the energy has started to feel off. I was recently singled out by staff after a complaint about me casually singing between laps. No, it’s not against the rules. Yes, I was respectful and not disruptive. But somehow, joy is now a problem? If someone finds a little lighthearted singing more offensive than screaming kids or splashy cannonballs, maybe the pool isn't the issue—they are. Thought I would give the YMCA a chance but pool is closed every evening because supposed lightning in area. They claim the pumps are outside so they have to close the pool. When I ask the front desk they have no clue about anything and just seem lost. Wake up it’s Florida, there is a storm every day. You would think they would figure out a solution to this by now being here for so long. Instead you pay a membership and don’t get access to all the facilities. Lots of reviews are complaints from non members. My son loves the kid zone. It's hard to find a place im confident he'll be safe in and have fun, while I get an hour workout in. Classes are excellent! Especially functional fitness. The staff are friendly and helpful. Frances is especially nice personable and keeps us coming back. Being a ymca member is the best value membership we have hands down.
