I recently bought a backyard mini ramp through Jim Bell Skate Ramps — it was a transfer from one of his previous builds — and the whole experience was top notch. Jim came out personally to check out our space, and we worked together on customizing the original ramp to fit both our layout and our skating ability. I picked up one of Jim's ramps after an iconic Hodad's surf and skate competition in OB. Jim's guys delivered it to my house. I had to do a little work to get my ground leveled and the ramp together. Jim showed up with some skatelite, tools, and some awesome help. They slapped on the top deck and made this thing perfect. There is no way I could have done it without him. I had the best experience with JBSR! my 12 year old son is just getting into skateboarding and there is no place to ride around where we live in New Orleans, so we looked into putting a half pipe in our backyard. Jim worked with us to come up with a custom ramp that would best work in our space within our budget and the end result blew our expectations away! Jim is a skilled and meticulous ramp builder. He built our boys a custom design to accommodate our yard size which is long but not wide. It's a half pipe with a coping hip in the middle. He is very kind and patient with kids. We live by the beach and have a steady stream of neighborhood kids roll through to leave their boards and bikes in our yard.
