Dr Miller-Horn had an extremely nice bedside manner and I’d 100% recommend her to anyone in need of a pediatric neurologist! She sat down to speak to me and took her time to evaluate my daughter…all with a smile. Was really surprised to ready any negative review as our experience was quite the opposite. She was so friendly!
The visit with Miller-Horn was positive, as she demonstrated great concern and clearly explained her limitations in providing care and the medical options available. She offered services through an epilepsy program and promised to connect us with a psychiatrist. However, the follow-up after the visit was lacking. No actions were taken to follow through on the program with epilepsy study/ offered services, and it was extremely difficult to get any answers regarding the psychiatrist. I will not share the full details but Dr. Millerhorn has no Compassion when working with Children. As a parent and crying for help and the child saying they also want help, you would think that she would do what needed to be done. Instead my child was left to continue to suffer with her condition because it was not important enough for her to help! Agree that she comes off cold which is odd considering she serves a pediatric population. Our ped fortunately called us with the results as we never heard back from the neurology group. Should we need to go back will defintely ask for another md or outside stonybrook.
I have not yet seen Dr. Miller-Horn: So far my experience with this practice is completely negative. My son had a seizure 2 weeks ago we were seen in the ED and prescribed meds. I was given NO guidance by anyone as to what I am to do. I called the office to speak with a nurse or doctor in regards to my son’s upcoming appointment and reoccurring seizures and was on the phone with a RUDE/UNHELPFUL receptionist who transferred me over to a voicemail that didn’t give me any information on who I was leaving the message for.
