I called his office and it took me 10 minutes to connect and the consultation fee is 2200$ as he does not take any insurance.
First, I think it is very unfair to give a bad review to a doctor because he doesn’t take insurance or his office staff are not very efficient!!! Secondly, Reviews should be for the doctor itself. How much knowledge he has and how efficiently he was able to address the patient’s issue!! Lastly, this doctor is very knowledgeable and experienced. As a patient, that is ALL I need to know.
I call office for appt and was told Dr Shapiro does not take any insurance. $1000+ for initial consultation and $700+ for follow up. Sad that this dr is taking advantage of patients that are in need of his expertise
The overall handling of billing and receipt of payment with this practice is poorly handled to say the least. This sort of behavior is not what I would expect from a reputable international university medical system. Rather than treated as a patient, I was treated like a random customer who was strong armed for fees that the office felt entitled to.
