Dr. Kolavo is an excellent doctor. I had 4 previous back surgeries with another orthopedic surgeon and Dr. Kolavo replaced previous hardware and completed 3 level spinal fusion. This surgery was far easier recovery than the 4 prior. He was an effective advocate for me and the need for surgery with workman's comp. I really appreciated him and his staff with the whole process. I went to see Dr Kolavo for a follow up after going to the ER after I fell at work because of the pain I was having, the MRI shows a herniated disc, degenerative discs on my spine, and also my primary doctor said on my left hip I have osteopenia arthritis, when I met the Dr, very short cold, explained what I already knew as I researched online my conditions having the results before I went to see him, and he never addressed the problem with my hip which is numb, burning and painful, he was rude when I asked him questions, no... read more
I do not recommend this doctor. My wife saw him for chronic back issues and pain and he was very cold. He basically made us feel like we were wasting his time being there. He insulted my wife by basically telling her he has other patients that have more severe problems and they do not have pain. He also mentioned her weight as a factor, which upset her greatly. I was thoroughly disgusted with his lack of empathy and needless to say we will be seeking a different back specialist.
