My first visit was very pleasant. I look forward to seeing them again for my needs.
Dr. Phelps had an extremely busy clinic but he took the time to explain the MRI results to me. He also answered many questions and gave an overview of my situation. Given his schedule I was very impressed with his willingness to help me understand fully my situation and also what to expect in the future. What a blessing he is!
My mother was seen in the ER and never saw this man. The scheduler called after she was released to her an MRI. He was the dr assigned to her somehow. He refused to give her calming meds to do an MRI. She is 75 and had a stroke 3 months ago. He said to call her primary so we did. Explained everything that was needed for me to make a decision on a treatment plan. Was a bit slow in getting to talk with me would be my only complaint.
Spends adequate time with patients to discuss symptoms and to understand the problem from the patient's perspective. He goes over imaging results and explains how symptoms are related to imaging findings and encourages patients to ask questions. He also provides excellent and thorough descriptions of options most likely to be effective for alleviation of symptoms. I would definitely recommend Dr. Phelps.
Dr Phelps explained in detail my back .great Doctor.
Dr Phelps was very thorough. Made things understandable.
I need to give more information about the post I left below regarding my father. Dr Phelps care for my dad -started with ER visit after a fall My dad sustained fractures in the area of the C1/C2 cervical vertebrae. Dr Phelps on call, saw my dad in ER; determined surgery not needed as his C1/C2 had fused over his life. Dr Phelps had him put in a hard cervical collar (so uncomfortable- but he needed it ). Dr said he would follow in 2 weeks. 12 days later he wrote a letter saying he would not follow my dad's care, 30 days past ... read more
terrible; totally uncaring for 98 year old WWII Veteran from the Greatest Generation. If you don't need surgery, and you are elderly, don't expect Dr Phelps to care for you. "0" stars if it was an option. My dad is miserable and we have no options for follow up within the time period recommended. Dr Phelps appears to be overcome with having a good outcome, and is without compassion for the elderly when outcomes are unknown. Truly my dad is a pretty health 98 year old WWII veteran, Ambulatory with a walker, lives independentl... read more
