Dr. Szmanda came highly recommended by others. Our experience with her has been nothing but 5 star. Dr. Szmanda was respectful, knowledgeable, empathetic and took extra time with our teen daughter. If you know teens, they don’t like much, and our daughter really liked her. She had exceptional resources for us to look into, and gave us some great advice. We never felt rushed and she answered all our questions. We will be taking our younger daughter to see her as well. I would highly recommend Dr. Szmanda!
Dr. Szmanda is amazing! We recently moved to the Fox Cities to get closer to family and needed a new pediatrician. Dr. Szmanda came very highly recommended and she absolutely lived up to it. This was very important to us because our previous pediatrician was also excellent. She treated our 6 and 4 year old girls with respect and encouragement. I’m being entirely objective and constructive here: Dr Szmanda is the rudest pediatrician we’ve encountered over the course of a decade of having kids. She was confrontational (turned an innocent vaccine question into a debate). Particularly to continue working with children and their parents: practice empathy; open your mind and realize that not everyone is out to get you; parents have questions and they should feel safe asking those questions in the pediatrician’s office.
Not a positive experience. She didn't listen to specific concerns and jumped to assumptions without any evidence basis or review of patient record. Our child was so distressed by the interaction and rough manner with the nurse that it made an adequate exam impossible. Despite the distress the staff caused, she pushed through her exam.
