Well I started seeing Dr Owens because I needed a PCP and she was the only one available about two years ago. I never really used her to often but when I did she was never inviting or seemed interested in my care. However, I recently became sick and very weak. Dr.Owens was very nonchalant with me, she ordered bloodwork and after me calling and leaving messages for over a WEEK she never got back to me. The staff has very poor communication, they lack empathy for their patients, it takes WEEKS to get refills for medications or to get call-backs. Unresponsive to messages, constantly hearing a different story or excuse for why something wasn’t done, and overall completely unprofessional & unacceptable behavior for a clinic of this caliber. Some things are expected but the number of issues my mother & I have had with this facility is absurd.
Dr. Owens is very down to earth, caring, smart and helpful to me. I have a multitude of diagnoses, so it can get complex, but she is always on top of things and she has taken time to research my not well known condition to learn how to best treat me. She takes the time to listen to me and doesn't rush through my appointments which is very important to me.
Best doctor in Hattiesburg! She spends time with you and listens. I highly recommend her.
Definitely don't recommend this doctor. I started using her as my pcp when my former pcp moved to another state. She does the bare minimum. I told her how I felt fatigued all the time and she just looked at me. She told me all my labs were normal at my last visit. Ok what is that supposed to mean. So she does more testing and checks my b12 level, vitamin d and thyroid function. She never checked an iron because my h&h was normal which doesn't mean anything.
