I was referred to Dr. Jeffrey Hedley, MD, at Sentara Cardiology Specialists, during the summer of 2024 for my paroxysmal AFIB. During an attempted pulsed field ablation in November of 2024, it was discovered that I had a rare congenital heart defect called Cor Triatriatum Sinister, where my left atrium is divided by a thin membrane.
