Amazing Dr Port is an incredible gastroenterologist. Dr Port has a wonderful bedside manner. A very knowledgeable and experienced Doctor.
Misdiagnosed my mother with Barrett syndrome. She complained of bloating, constipation for 6 months and he just did an endoscopy and told her to stop drinking milk. She ended up in the ER and was diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 3. Do not go or send your loved Ones to Dr Port, as he Will not properly diagnose your problems, and you can end up with a life ending diagnosis which could have been caught earlier.
Horrible doctor! Missed diagnosed my 56 year old brother&as a result my brother died 12 weeks later! My brother had the classic signs&symptoms&risk factors of esophageal cancer. Dr. Port told my brother that he had GERD. He did an upper endoscopy and did not even perform a random biopsy let alone miss seeing his huge tumor. My brother told him that his symptoms were getting worse. My brother went to another doc&tumor was huge, causing tracheal deviation&was told it was present for a long time!
I would have liked more active listening as my conditions worsened and the only move was more prescriptions. I have since stopped the prescriptions and the symptoms lessened. Had he taken a bit more time to listen or ask probing questions, I believe he could have found other solutions to help. I have since sought help elsewhere and would not recommend this practice.
Do not go to Dr. Port! My brother had an endoscopy by him in August and was told he had Barrett's syndrome. He died 6 months later from esophageal cancer. He was misdiagnosed. I am so sorry he did not go to competent Doctor that could have diagnosed his cancer earlier. He would have had so many more options.
My experience was positive. Scheduled for a colonoscopy, pleasant bedside manner, discussed findings with myself and family member whom was present.
VERY UNDERSTANDING & COMPASSIONATE DOCTOR!!
We would NOT ever recommend Dr. Port!! Talks down to patients; very arrogant, demeaning; orders many unnecessary tests (new gastro doctor agreed) and does not deliver results for months. Office staff makes ridiculous excuses for his lack of timeliness and his inefficiencies: our printer is out of ink or broken, & the doctor is out of town this MONTH. No associates? His retirement would be best for his patients! Even the nurses in the outpatient testing area cannot stand to work with him!
He was the most arrogant Doctor I have ever encountered. I would not send any of my loved ones to him and will make it a point to never see him as a patient. Medical school means nothing when you are an absolute jerk. Terrible human being and Doctor.
