The initial appointment with Dr. Nelson went great, I got answers after months of debilitating pain and was able to schedule my surgery while I was at the office. He listened to my experience and concerns, made a diagnosis, and confirmed his diagnosis with a physical exam. I also really loved Patrice, she was great. Update- my total colectomy was performed by Dr. Nelson on 2/17/25. He used the Davinci Robot to minimize pain and I had a great outcome. This was my second bowel surgery, the first was at GBMC where the original surgeon left behind too much large intestine that was distended, bleeding and creating a host of issues for me. Dr. Nelson knew exactly what needed to be done to help me. I’m going home after 5 days in the hospital recovering and I’m eating solid foods with very little pain!
