Update- my total colectomy was performed by Dr. Nelson on 2/17/25. He used the Davinci Robot to minimize pain and I had a great outcome. This was my second bowel surgery, the first was at GBMC where the original surgeon left behind too much large intestine that was distended, bleeding and creating a host of issues for me. Dr. Nelson knew exactly what needed to be done to help me. I’m going home after 5 days in the hospital recovering and I’m eating solid foods with very little pain! Dr. Nelson is a very compassionate and understanding physician. He really knows his stuff. Being the type of doctor he is and what he does, he is very gentle and makes you feel at ease. I had internal hemmoids that I didn't think I was ever going to be able to be rid of. He banded them in the office in a few minutes. I am now free of the pain. I highly recommend him for any of the procedures he does. His office staff are wonderful. Very nice ladies and helpful
