We’ve been to many vets in the area and Dr. Ahalt is the best in the business hands down. Our dog just had orthopedic surgery on her leg and we weren’t sure if it was repairable. Dr. Ahalt is an animal lover and our young dog is running around like nothing ever happened. If you want a vet you can put total confidence in then you need to go see Dr. Ahalt.
Customer service was great. Communication was not. Took my cat in in with what turned out to be an abscess. Asked us to leave him so they could lance the abscess under sedation. there was no mention at all of surgery and putting in ports, and all the charges that go with that. I would have done it regardless, but an expense and procedure like that should be done with consent, not just the assumption that the owner wants it done and can afford the cost the same day with no billing option.
We love JVH. They have been wonderful to us, and to our fur babies throughout the years. ❤️
Today was our first visit to this Veterinarian and I would definitely recommend them. Very nice staff. Large Office. Happy Dog.

I read the story where this veterinarian left his home Christmas Eve to care for innocent hounds who’d been in a fire. He had a heart of gold and loves these animals. I live in spring mills and would definitely travel to Jefferson county with my fur babies.
