Rude Musician, Unimpressive Food – Our recent experience at Blue Smoke was horrible! It had less to do with the service, food, ambiance etc. and more to do with the band that was performing there that night. We were seated right in front of the musicians and everything was going well until the composer/saxophonist (who happened to be an 80 year old man) proceeded to scold us for so much as moving a finger during the performance. worst service in town – first time at jazz standard we tried the "world-famous" BBQ, which was served cold and came to the table faster than our drinks, but our server was nice, plus we went there for the music anyway, so didn't care too much. second time was today and I'm still kinda mad. Beautiful Beautiful Place – This place is well worth your time. The hostess and the servers were very attentive. The food is delicious and the entertainment has you longing to come back. We had two sides, an entree, two glasses of wine, a non-alcoholic beverage and a cup of coffee all for $127 which included the $30 show fee per a person. Don't hesitate, just pick up and go.
Great food, great service and fantastic Jazz – What a great place. Food was excellent. $32 bottle of local vine and service was super. Atmosphere was relaxed and very friendly. Place was clean and romantic enough to set you in Jazz mood.. I went with my mother who is visiting me from Europe and this was excellent night out for both of use. An unbelievable experience! – Our time at JS was the perfect night to remember! I really loved the seating arrangement; not overly crowded, great view and sound no matter where you are seated in the house. On top of the great performance, the ribs from BlueSmoke were heavenly! Where else can you find a night of great entertainment and satisfying dining with friendly services? Finding a parking space around its neighborhood should not be a problem as it is in an area of businsses, not a usual hangout place like East Village.
Great Jazz in a great place! – I recommend that you eat upstairs prior to going downstairs for a show. If you do this you can beat the line that forms upstairs to get one of the better seats in the house. There really isn't a bad seat in this house like the blue note and they let you choose where to sit. Love It! – THere is nothing not to like. A risk free enjoyabvle evening for all live jazz lovers. The side banquet seats are spacious and romantic and oiffer a bird's eye view. Good wine list and food choices. My favorite above Blue Note and others
Best BBQ in the city!!! – I am from the south and as someone who prides herself on knowing good bbq I am very skeptical of BBQ places in NY. However, Blue Smoke/ Jazz Standard delivers in ways I could only dream of. The pulled pork sanwich left me remembering my childhood in Macon, GA.
