RecommendedThe food was delicious. I don't like the waiting time and there was quite a lot of flies in the dining room. I will return and do recommend!
We like Jay’s. It is not FAST food, but it is flavorful & plenty of it at a reasonable price. They are understaffed, but where would they put more staff. Consistently friendly and conscientious about the food prep. Today was their first time (out of 4 or 5 visits) with an error in an order— okra instead of squash! Still good.
My son had the chicken strip combo and his 3 were HUGE. Great fresh cuts of white meat that are hand breaded. I had the 6 buffalo wing plate and could not eat all 6. Normally I do not favor the breaded wings, but these are the exception. The most meat you will see on a wing and the bones were clean after eating. I have passed this place several times in my travels, but I am glad we made this our tailgate meal tonight. Can’t wait to come back.
Comming from court this was awesome spot to stop at. Even though my chicken was kinda on the over done side it was still good the Mac n cheese is flavorful And the battered fries are really tasty. Staff was nice I would defiantly go back again.
We were on a road trip and wanted a nice local spot for some comfort food and this was perfect. Great atmosphere, awesome staff, and quite possibly the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Not overbreaded, juicy, perfectly spiced. 10/10. Oh and they have draft beer soooooooooo, obviously.

The food is great, but the wait is ridiculous. We came in ordered, went and sat down (like the people in front of us did, they got their food in about 10 mins). 30 minutes later still no food. My husband got up and they asked what we were waiting for and he told them. Our food had been sitting behind the counter for some time and no one had let us know it was ready. We will go back because the food was good, just hopefully next time we’ll get our food in a timely manner.
I could TASTE it wasn't fresh..and I mean all the food. I had 2sides, pork ribs, and fish. None of it was hot or fresh. Don't think I'll go back anytime soon.
People Do Not Eat At Jay's Chicken Shack!! 3 coworkers placed an order. 1 co workers food was over cooked, the other 2 co-workers entire order was incorrect. She went to owner to complain he was a Rude and Racist stating that she should go to Social Services for free stuff. You should not treat paying customers this way. Shame on you as a business owner. Edit: We work for one of the major businesses in Hillsborough. We have sent mass information out for our fellow co workers to not spend a dime at your busy.
