Dr. Schwalb is an absolute angel on earth! I had been in excruciating pain after a carpel tunnel surgery and ulnar nerve transposition done in Texas at the same time by the same Dr. I woke up screaming that something was wrong! I endured over a year of undiagnosed, unexplained pain. All while being shoved crazy drugs down my throat to shut me up. Dr.Schwalb did a brain DBS for me ....I couldn't have been more impressed with Dr. Schwalb and his staff during and after surgery. I will say he's not one to hold a conversation with you...but myself being in the medical field particularly MRI. I would rather have some with the expertise rather than holding a conversation. I was aware of Dr. Schwalb for years before my decision to undergo brian surgery for my DBS....to this day I couldn't be happier....I realize tremors weren't going to be completely eliminated...but it is p... read more
Brilliant surgeon? Maybe… BUT he’s absolutely ego-based and totally condescending! Following my SCS implant surgery, I went back to see him with terrible pain and problems. First, he closed all of the incisions with staples!! The pain was excruciating, and when questioned he told me using staples was “faster for him!” When I complained about the placement of the battery pack sticking out too far and causing me great pain, he patted my knee and said: “I think you’re fine!” I regret the day I ever met this man.
