I was just uncomfortable and it was just a weird appointment. It felt dismissive and rushed. I won’t go back, which is sad since he is so close to home. The two ladies at front desk in his office were so busy chatting, they didn’t have time to answer my question without attitude. It was a complete horror show in that office.
Dr. Vanbennekom placed my copper IUD and did an amazing job, I was originally set to get a cervical block but said no when I seen the needle and he didn’t make me feel bad for changing my mind on the spot. He talked me through the procedure and made sure I knew every step we were on. He prescribed me two misoprostol tablets to use the night before and as I make this review I am having no side effects at all. All together Dr. Vanbennekom did a wonderful job at giving me a positive experience with my IUD insertion!
I saw this Doctor once years ago and I am still traumatized. He was the one who placed my first IUD, which was an extremely awful experience. After he inserted it I was in the most pain I have ever felt and he told me "you should feel no pain right now". He totally dismissed how I felt as a patient and as a PERSON. He is also a male and has no idea what I as a woman was going through in that moment because he cannot even fathom what an IUD insertion feels like.
AMAZING! I went through years of trying to get a diagnosis for my bleeding/pain. Upon switching physicians , Dr. VanBennekom had a consult with me and agreed I needed a hysteroscopy and moved my surgery date up so I only had to wait two weeks. I finally got a diagnosis and he was so incredibly kind, sweet and knowledgeable and was able to calm all of my fears and anxiety I had, and even held my hand as the anestheologist was putting me under . I went thru a big scare and Dr. VanBennekom was very kind and talked me through every step of the process. He was very thorough and made sure that I was comfortable through the entire scare.
Speaks rudely to patients.....even to the manner that I the husbands had to step in to protect my wife from this animal. He is unfit to be a Doctor. Lack self control.
Great! He's knowledgeable, friendly, and he cares!
