I felt dismissed and not valued; more like a number than a person. The medical assistant hurried through the rooming questions and didn’t wait for me to answer if I was okay with them using software to record the visit. (I was but for those who aren’t, know that you won’t be given a chance to decline.) I work at a clinic and know she could have done this better. Personal care and attention by doctor and staff was good but I am not sure if I like the direction medicine is taking with the advent of AI. It may save time and allow more time to see more patients, an economic necessity, but I fear the not so gradual trend away from the intrapersonal contact between patient and provider will lead to indifference on the patient’s side where a robotic exchange will become acceptable by virtue of a gradual process of desensitization, frustration, and ultimately acceptance on the patient’s par... read more
