Jan has been doing my taxes since I was 16 years old. He's been the bookkeeper for my mom's business for much, much longer, and he is truly amazing. He's gone above and beyond for both of us all these years. I am so very sad to hear that Jan is retiring this year, but the rest of the staff there at James Keep and Co are for sure just as awesome! I strongly recommend this place if you are looking for the most trustworthy, knowledgeable, and professional company here in Portland.
OVERALL: I think this is an okay place as long as your tax situation is in order, if your tax situation is a little tricky, maybe avoid them, or be aware that any form or request from the IRS that comes after filing you will be doing by yourself, which is best as they don't have any idea of what is happening. The good: Lizzie (front desk) is really nice and attentive both over the phone and in person. Jaya helped us fill in the taxes from previous years and get things in order, everything was done fast.
