misdiagnosis about 2 years ago. I had torn labrum of the hip is what I found out recently. He suggested I had a flexor injury and to rest it. He did not recommend an MRI.. after reading about the hip and learning what doctors should do, it surprises me that this guy could make such a mistake.
My experience with Dr. Kanellakos was successful and gratifying. His care in listening to the problem, diagnosis, explanations, surgery, and post-operative care has been excellent. I would consider his skills and services for other related orthopedic issues that may arise in the future.
I highly Dr. Kanellakos as an orthopedic surgeon. I was not happy w/my previous orthopedic surgeon and was referred to Dr. Kanellakos by one of his patients. Dr. Kanellakos and his staff provided professional, timely care in alleviating pain in my hip on June 26. I feel like I got my life back - No More Pain. I would not hesitate to go back/recommend patients to him.

I highly recommend Dr. James Kanellakos as an orthopedic surgeon. I broke my leg in the middle of the night and was fortunate enough to have Dr. Kanellakos on duty as the orthopedic trauma surgeon at Morristown Medical Center. It was a compound fracture and he not only repaired the broken bones but mended the skin damage and I now have minimal scarring from the accident.
Dr. Kanellalkos was terrific and I couldn't be happier with the outcome of my hip replacement . His office staff was great to work with and I will not hesitate to use Dr. K and this office again. Wendy Demboski
I can’t recommned Dr. K highly enough. He is thoroughly professional, extremely patient with questions, answers them in understandable language, and the outcome of the surgery itself has been truly amazing. I experienced very little pain while in recovery (I used only Tylenol for about a week and a half), and his team, both in and out of the hospital, were very approachable and helpful. It was my first-ever surgery and if I had to do the other hip, I wouldn’t hesitate to go right back to him.
I had a total replacement of my right hip on January 5, 2017 performed by Dr Kanellakos. From my first visit with him through my recovery to date, I have found Dr K to be knowledgeable, professional and extremely skilled. At 6 weeks post-surgery, I have little pain and am walking with no limitations. While I have a few more months before complete recovery, I am confident that I made the right decision in having the surgery performed by Dr. Kanellakos. I would recommend him without hesitation.
