I had the same experience as below. My daughter needed a sleep and nap study. After months of waiting for Dr Wyatt to get this scheduled and a lack of email responses, I called Northwestern's sleep clinic and they got it scheduled and covered right away, got her diagnosis and treatment. Plus I have seen the sleep study center at Northwestern and it is so much more pleasant than the sleep center at Rush(especially the center in Oak Park).

I too detected a lack of empathy in Dr. Wyatt, but what really bothered me was that he told me to make a third appointment with him after my home sleep study (which showed nothing significant), and then did not answer a half dozen messages I left him on MyChart. Messages are supposed to be returned within 48 hours. Finally, the front desk gave me an appointment 3 MONTHS hence. My general feeling is that the doctor just doesn't care--even enough to answer my messages. I would not recommend him.

If you are looking for a doctor with empathy and a good bedside manner, you will not find it in Dr. Wyatt. I have never written a review for a doctor before but feel compelled to do so after the way I was treated during my appointment. His tone was consistently condescending and antagonizing, immediately forcing me to be on the defensive about my other health problems and diagnoses. James Wyatt was very rude and insensitive. He dismissed my medical history and the advice of my doctors. He also became argumentative and aggressive when I mentioned his behavior.

I was initially impressed with Dr Wyatt, but after two one-hour visits — for which I was billed more than $900 after insurance — he became increasingly difficult to reach. He proposed a couple of ways I could address my insomnia, but took weeks to reply to my followup questions (despite the fact that Rush promises an answer within 2 business days).
