An abysmal experience. I might as well have set the money on fire.....
Dr. Eckhart made me petrified of dentists to this day (I am 26 and had treatment from him when I was 13-16). He put his experimental device (Mara) in my mouth and it caused so much pain. He thought I was crazy (yet, I still have scars in my cheek because of the device). He did not tell my parents this device was experimental. When he was trying to take one part off, he ripped out my tooth (without Novocain). I told him he was ripping out my tooth, and he said, "No I'm not...I'm a dentist, and I know what I'm doing!" Dr. Eckhart is very personable. His staff is friendly, caring and helpful. Always on time and very clean facility. I would refer Dr. Eckhart to everyone needing any type of orthodontic treatment.
I was a patient of his when I was 13 years old. He put an experimental device in my mouth (mara), that he now widely uses. It was very painful. Additionally, when he was attempting to remove the device, he pulled out my molar (no novicaine). I told him he was pulling it out, and all he said was, "I'm a dentist, I know what I'm doing!" 12 years later, I am still afraid of dentist. I hope he feels good about himself.
I really like the staff, but I've never actually met Dr. Eckhart. There is always someone covering for him. I've had my braces 10 months and my teeth already look great so I'm not worried, but i think its strange that after at least 6 appointments I havnt met the dentist.
Dr. E's office came highly recommended and I interviewed several Orthodontists for adult Orthodontia. There are many out there who will promise the world without any effort suggesting marginal treatments. Dr. Eckhart is not one of these, he was always upfront about expectations about treatment length and is always focused on the end result. I have had the braces off for about 6 months now and I am very happy with the final result. The office in MB was very convient to home and work and I was very happy with their service.
Very difficult to get an appointment that fits my schedule. Dr. does not respond well to emergencies.
I can't believe how small this office is in MB. I was stunned to be brought into a room that was smaller than my livingroom with 6 dental chairs. You are right on top of the other patients. Doctor mislead me about my treatment. He chipped one of my teeth while doing Enamal Reduction and didn't even tell me!! He just had one of his tech's come in and paste a cap on it. I had to blatenly ask him what happened. The Torrance office is much better and the equipment is more modern.
Appointments are hard to come by. It appears the office has too many patients than the office can handle. However, when you are seen by Dr. E and staff, they are wonderful and attentive to your treatment. If you have alot of patience and have a flexible schedule, the office is great. If not, think twice.
