I took my son to be diagnosed by Dr Phalen a couple of years ago. We made it to 2 appointments until I decided not to see Dr Phalen anymore. He told me I had to put my 3 year old son in school asap or he wouldn’t see us anymore. I did not feel comfortable putting my son in because he was completely non-verbal and was not potty trained at all. I did not feel comfortable. I am sure he has studied and worked hard to be a specialist. But unfortunately, as a person he lacks empathy. As a person who is treating children with special needs should know that the parents are already in a dark space and does not need to be drown more into darkness. He did some random testing which was really bad because children needs time to process and he was acting like my child was a normal child and needs to respond to his questions that way. We loved our time with Dr. Phalan, very direct and straightforward as well as supportive! The staff was also always welcoming!
