A very nice barber shop with great staff and products for sale. You can sample some products after the cut the stylist will help apply. They offer shampoos after as well. There is a spa side to the business. Another nice perk they offer beer, wine or hot coffee/tea while you wait to be seen.
Barber barely cut my hair, gave me a bowl cut and bangs (I'm a guy), and didn't listen to what I asked for
What a disappointment! Scheduled a scissor cut nothing fancy. Total incompetence! Haircut is uneven and a result of poor skill and carelessness. Never ever going back nor can I recommend.

I have been coming to Jake’s Place for years. I was a customer while still in college at ODU when it was a small operation on 21st. Now, living out of the area, I only come when I’m back home for a visit with the fam. I have noticed the last few years the lack of attention and professionalism. The employees are mediocre at best.
