Dr. Jain saved my life. After seeing 7 highly rated physchiatrist at Hartford Hospital not one of them helped me and the last one in West Hartford told me I would just have to live with it, and that was after time I spent at the Institute of Living in Hartford, went back to my PCP who gave me Dr. Jain's information without his help I would have taken my own life. He is the best Hartford has to offer as I saw most of them. Dr. Jaina you cannot be replaced. Judy Riedel
I disagree with previous poster. He never pushed meds on me, in fact I was involved in decisions about what I wanted to take etc. Psychiatrists are mostly for med management; clients still need to see a therapist for talk therapy - you really need both for optimal treatment.
Spends the initial visit listening to patient but follow up visits are brief and often he is dozing off while patient is talking. He highly recommends medication and always increases/adds more each visit. If you express concern over so many meds he is likely to discharge you from his practice. Doesn't explore/discuss other treatment options. If you question why only a 25 min appt he dismisses you but still bills a full hour. He is fine if you just need med refills. Meds are his specialty.
