Falling flat. I've been here several times for fish frys and each time has gotten progressively worse. Last night I waited nearly an hour and watched several groups that arrived after I had get seated before me. No reservations accepted, so I guess you just deal. You know when people are being rude in a nice way. By 8pm, we ordered immediately and it was not that busy but our food was slow to arrive, not hot and we constantly had empty water glasses. Not pleased that we arrived at 6:45 and left at 9:15 for one plate of fish.
The food was excellent, but the service can b a lil better. . I guess if you're a person of color you'll get treated differently. . The lady bartender, yes the smerk on your face when you served my husband drink was priceless. . The stares from the patrons was like, y ya'll here. . Lol.. it's 2k17 people. . Food and drinks are excellent. It's been very sketchy on the waitresses though, 1 time great service the next time horrible service. I know alot of people that go there and have said pretty much the same thing. We were sitting in the Lower dining room two different occasions waiting for a drink and been ignored. Meanwhile the waitress keeps going to the same tables laughing & talking, waited 1/2 hour to 45 minutes for a drinks with the glasses sitting on the edge of the table by the isle! Was just ok. Lots of bones in the perch. Underwhelmed
My boyfriend took me here for a date night and I thought it was very nice. The Badgertinis were excellent. The lobster bisque was smooth, creamy, and buttery. The cheese sticks were more like delicious cheese logs, in other words, huge! I had the crab legs and he had a steak, and we both had a lot of leftovers. Our waitress was very friendly, even though we came late, and were there until closing time. It would have been a 5 no problem if we weren't seated a half hour after our reservation, but the food is fantastic, the service is as well. We love the jailhouse and it's become our go to restaurant. Only bad was the time to be seated, called days in advance for the reservation knowing we would have limited time with a babysitter and it was for my husband's birthday, so our meal felt rushed to make it home.
