I came to Dr. Hacquebord with wrist pain from a previous fall. Dr. Hacquebord insisted on treating me for another condition I did not have with a steroid injection that caused me severe nerve pain for over a month before confirming the source of my pain by x ray. Once the x rays were completed minutes later, I was told I had no option besides ulnar corrective osteotomy surgery. When I specifically asked about the likelihood of multiple surgeries, Dr.H said a small amount of patients require a second surgery to remove the har... read more

If you have a complicated case, I would strongly recommend seeking care elsewhere rather than seeing a random doctor at NYU. As a teaching hospital, they may be suitable for routine procedures, but complex cases may require a specialist with deeper experience, in my opinion. In our case, seeing Dr. Hacquebord turned out to be a painful mistake and a significant waste of time. While he was willing to offer surgery, the outcome did not resolve the problem. Saved the hand that supposed to be dead according to many NYC top rated doctors. Not a single surgery, stitches or extra invasion. He is the best in his field as a man who knows, loves and dedicates himself. And equally important, implacable bedside manner. He also has an amazing nurse - Sonia.

I had surgery on both wrists for carpel tunnel. In the same year, 3 months apart with Doctor H. Not only was he professional, he was extremely personable and I felt completely at ease doing the surgery. I can do anything now without pain. I healed quickly and was back at work after 5 days. FYI I'm an Executive Assistant so I use my hands constantly. I would recommend him without question.
