i never contemplated the word ''slumlord" until I met Amanda Jacobs. My daughter was hurt by an intruder almost immediately upon us leasing a property through her. The kid that did it was a neighbor and related to many of the other children in the neighborhood as well. They would torment and beat her up constantly and we were the victims of several home break ins. My husbands flag box was even stolen. Unreal scammers. Apartment ok....but not real clean when I moved in. Just got my vacating instructions for when my lease expires. Nickel and dime? No ... tens and twenties for normal wear and tear items. For real....tenant has to have carpet shampooed which is subtracted from security deposit? I live alone and never used my second bedroom. And...that requirement was given after they tore all tenants decking down and my outdoor furniture, bbq, etc. have been sitting in my front room for four or five months. I am contacting ... read more
I lived at one of properties last year. When we moved in we paid a $1,700+ deposit which was already ridiculously high. When we moved out, they tried charging us with the previous renters damages and sent us a few pictures which included something as small as a bread tie in the freezer that we missed. We were expecting to get some of our deposit back, but did not get any of the $1,700+ deposit back AND they tried charging us an extra $700 on top of that.
