The student midwife gives unsolicited advice (unrelated to maternity care) that go against the advice of my gastroenterologist and doctors treating my autoimmune conditions. Unfortunately I decided to not continue care here as I need to trust the birth team.
We've had 6 homebirths across three Midwives and Jacksonville Community Midwives is easily the best experience. It is fortuitous to have such an excellent midwifery in our community. They have taken such good care of my wife before, during, and after pregnancy. Jenn and Jacinda are kind, knowledgeable, and prompt. The student Midwives are always lovely people.
I have now had 3 successful homebirths thanks to these wonderful women! I couldn’t rave about them enough. They are very calming, personable, fun and understanding. Any symptom or fear was talked about and quelled during appts and I felt very comfortable and taken care of during births and postpartum with helpful advice to get me through.
I had both my children with Jacksonville Community Midwives. They are stellar individuals, Jacinda and Jennifer. Through a series of unfortunate events, I have become an "avoid the hospital unless absolutely necessary" kind of person, so I definitely wanted to have a home birth when I was pregnant. These ladies are very dedicated and passionate about what they do and they were understanding of our situation because our baby turned breach at last minute and we could no longer use their services due to them not being breech certified. They did a great job at answering our questions throughout the whole process and gave alot of support. The only thing I wish they did was educate us more about the possibilities of certain birth scenarios. I wish I would’ve been prepared in case my child turned breach.
