We have absolutely loved living here. We are only moving because of a relocation to another state. The location is perfect. You are two blocks from Lake Merritt and a 12 min walk to BART. There is a gym on site that is rarely crowded. The bottom units have huge patios where we were able to have an entire vegetable garden and outdoor furniture. Also, the management is responsive. I would definitely recommend.

Lived there May 2021-Nov 2024 Currently in a dispute with them over returning most of my deposit. Spent hours cleaning the apartment and even had management speak highly of the job I did cleaning the place up saying "I could show this place today no problem" only for them to allow their vendor to falsely charge for things they didn't do and allow them to upcharge and reduce what was properly due to me. I enjoyed living at Jackson Lake Apartments! Only moved because I moved away from Oakland. The management is great and the location is incredible. Frankie, Laura, and the whole team are always on top of everything.

I lived here for a year. The owners are cheap and the office workers are incredibly condescending. 
Jackson Lake and Merritt Properties obviously hold as tight as they can to CA replacement laws. The windows are covered in rust and MOLD. They are single-pane and most likely from the ‘80s. Not secure at all but because they are not cracked or broken, they are never replaced. They are very drafty in the colder months so if you use the baseboard heaters your utility bill will be high.
