Planning to dive or get certified while on Big Island? There’s no better place than JDL. Friendly and knowledgeable crew, top of the line equipment, well stocked shop, and very reasonable prices. I have been diving with JDL for about 15 years now, renting tanks for shore dives, or enjoying full service on the boat. Always positive experience. I will come back again next year.
This is a classy outfit! They have customer service down to a science, take care of your gear, entertain you, feed you, and are very professional and thorough. We got skunked on the Mantas but none the less had a great time! Manta Man is extremely smart and hilarious! Alex did a great job leading our group dive! The Pelagic dive is something we would definitely do again, Sarah and John were great!
I was certified in 1974 and went diving once since then in Hawaii. The Jack's team got a kick out of my original PADI card. My daughter was recently certified so we both took a refresher from the fine folks at Jack's Diving Locker in preparation for the Manta Ray dive. Everyone associated with Jack's Diving Locker was fantastic! From the people in the store to our incredible dive guides, if you are looking for a great adventure I highly recommend this outfit!
Shelby was wonderful with our shopping experience. Very patient with the whole family. We came in not really sure what we needed to enjoy some snorkeling locally. Other than thinking we'd buy our own gear so as to have it every time we come which is yearly. She explained our options, pointed us to the right equipment. Offered some nice but not necessary upgrades. Which we took advantage of. One of the best shopping experiences we have had on the island. Can't wait to get out and try the gear!
We finished our open water certification course here and it couldn’t have been better . On the first day , I had trouble with my mask and BCD ( I’m petite) but the team fixed it the next day . Juan Carlos was our dive instructor and gave excellent tips throughout the course. Although the student to instructor ratio was 4:1(made me very skeptical in the beginning ) I found him to be a very astute observer. The crew was so fun. We had the best time. We had a drop in snorkel with a whale shark that wanted to hang out for awhile followed by a 2 tank dive one of which involved “hanging around the campfire” with the MOST AMAZING display of Manta frolicking. Best time EVER!!! I’m going back and I recommend you going too.
Had an amazing time with Jack’s Diving Locker! I cannot put into words the experience my boyfriend and I had with them. We scheduled 6 dives while there. Keller and Sarah were enthusiastic and passionate. The night dive with Manta Rays was surreal. I can’t wait to visit again! If you are considering diving while Kona, they are top-notch! Thank you!!!
