Best atmosphere and Food you could find!! The hotel Jacaranda is one of the oldest hotel in the state, the antique floors ceiling and just the out put of the hotel if wonderful, It's amasing how they reconstruct the hotel and still have the antique stile; The restaurant is wonderful it has a Sunday buffet, and from Monday to friday they have the summer Menu consisting of sanwiches, soup& salad bar, It's amasing how much food you get for just the price!! An Architectural Piece of Art When the historic Jacaranda Hotel fell into disrepair, South Florida Community College bought and restored it. While still a working hotel, many of the rooms are used as dorm rooms for students at SFCC. Also, the college's culinary arts program is taught at the Jacaranda. While I personally believe the Jacaranda Hotel could be more finely refurbished, I am glad they took on the huge task they have for the Jacaranda would be sorely missed had it been allowed to fall apart.
Jacaranda Hotel This hotel is an example of the fine hotels that were built in the area. It is still a landmark in Avon Park and still recommended by the locals. The atmosphere could use some refurbishing and the restaurant facilities could offer a more varied menu.
Beautiful Old Refurbished Hotel The name comes from the 150-year-old Jacaranda tree growing where the hotel was to be built in 1923 - the Florida Boom Era. The tree was a landmark in town and there was much ado that it had to be felled to make room for the building. In fact, local citizens tried to replant the giant tree elsewhere, but it failed.
