My friend Mary Taylor, was captain of the Westcott. Took us for a ride to deliver mail and a goat. Her guy Ken Crowley came along to assist with the goat. Very exciting and thrilling. Drove a 37' Eggharbor that I owned occasionally, including docking. Love boating in Detroit River and Great Lakes.
This company is indispensable for the American and Canadian ships that pass by on the Detroit River. Not only do they get crews to and from the ships but also supplies and mail. Captain Sam is the General Manager and a Pilot Boat Captain as well. He is so hospitable to the crews and visitors that come by. A huge shout out to all their Pilots and crew members who staff the facility 24 hours a day including holidays!!
Nice Place & Spot ...
Great two hour cruise on a working boat. That’s what one must keep in mind the operative word is working, no fluff Mam. The two person crew was very nice, sociable and knowledgeable! We even experienced a Mail Drop with a freighter underway which was way cool!
