In 1936, Jack Moore founded J.M. Equipment as the Allis Chalmers tractor dealer in San Joaquin County, Calif. Ten years later the name was changed to J.M. Equipment. It began as a farm tractor and implement company and expanded into the forklift business in 1960. The company represented the Allis Chalmers line of forklift trucks, as well as Cushman carts, and warehousing and material handling equipment.
