Discover a bit of Japanese nightlife culture in Houston's Memorial City. This izakaya serves a selection of Japanese small plates that pair well with a craft beer, sake, or wine. The relaxed setting makes this perfect for post-work drinks with colleagues or friends. Embark on a culinary journey as you snack on bites like hotaruika ozizuke, wasabi shumai, and hiyayakko. For those who prefer something classic, the udon or soba noodle soups are excellent as well; try the tsukimi udon made with yamaimo, egg yolk, green onion, an... read more

One of my favorites in Houston.
I met the owner the first time I visited. He explained that he wanted to open an authentic Izakaya for so Japanese people staying in Houston would feel at home. I’d say that he got a home run. The atmosphere, food, and service are excellent. The staff I met are from Japan and everything is authentic. Top rating from me.
The food here is always great, but our server, Ryan, was unprofessional. We had to flag down other servers for water, extra wasabi, hot tea, and to order another dish. When we asked for the check, he simply handed us a piece of paper instead of placing it in a bill holder?? To make matters worse, he mistakenly charged us for two beers we never ordered. I had to call the next day to correct it with the manager, who issued a refund. I’d give his service -0 stars.
It was my first time here tonight, this place was AMAZING! The wait for a table was 20mins around 7pm, the food, & service were great. Our food came out quickly, short wait times between our dishes & each dish was delicious, we left very impressed and ready to be back soon!
Came here with my family for a weekday early dinner. There is no wait at 5pm. We sat outdoor on a nice breezy day. The music speaker was loud and the music choice is terrible (annoying Japanese pop and techno dubstep). We ordered a variety of food including noodle bowl, seared fish, sashimi and appetizers. The rice and udon are really good. Tempura is outstanding. Sadly the waiter forgot to bring out the 3rd entree. It could have been a much better experience.
