My tenant, a 71 year old disabled male was admitted in the evening for a fall while intoxicated. Although I'm listed as his emergency contact, the nurse I spoke to would not provide me with any information about his release the following day, but after some arm twisting she begrudgingly told me he had been released "Less drunk" at 5:30 am. My daughter recently was seen in the ER. Was told they would contact us after the doctor saw her that did not happen. After waiting four hours I called them was told my daughter had not been seen there, even though we were there and knew for a fact she had been there, then after being put on hold they admitted their mistake and she had been transferred. Excellent care from imaging, cardiology, urology, surgery team, post op recovery staff, hospital floor staff.
I had a very disappointing experience at this IU Health location. I have a rare neurological condition that can cause temporary weakness or paralysis, difficulty speaking, and an inability to walk. Even though I was clearly unable to walk or speak because of my symptoms, a nurse repeatedly told me to walk instead of recognizing that I was experiencing a neurological episode, she repeatedly said " Come on walk, you can here walking..". Nurses neglected patient for 9 hours and left them to lay in bodily fluids. Management offered to "retrain" them. That's it. Find another hospital if possible!!!
