I had a very disappointing experience at Island Pet Hospital this morning, 09/23/26. I had a 9:30 AM appointment. I arrived at 9:20 and was checked in. Around my appointment time, the receptionist told me that they were running late and would be with me shortly. While I was waiting 2 customers finished appointments, paid and left. Another customer that came in after me waited about 5 minutes and was taken back. Granted, I do not know what services he was there for. The staff was really nice but the doctor made me feel like I was a horrible person
In March, my newly adopted cat Kuroo was having respiratory difficulties. Dr McCluskey immediately suspected FIP, but I wasn’t sure I could afford the cost of bloodwork so he let us go home. Kuroo didn’t get better so I called, and they were able to squeeze him in. Tragically he did have FIP, which is 100% fatal with no treatment. I honestly don’t know how much time he would’ve had. Dr. Kara Garside is amazing! She is honest, and takes really good care of my German Shepherd, Milo. The entire staff are great and got to the root of the problem. They know how to manage large dogs and scheduling to see her is very flexible. I am happy we found a vet clinic that cares for my pet and always remembers him.
