I have witnessed Bill’s work for years, first on the schooner Adventuress, then with my own projects. He helped me get a Plath sextant cleaned up and ready for service. And also recently lent his expertise on the restoration of an old Ritchie & Sons gimbaled compass. The man knows his nautical instruments and it is fascinating to hear his stories.
RecommendedWanted to take a moment to thank Island Marine for their outstanding service. Sent them my mid-'80s Richie Helmsman after the crazing & cracks finally got so bad the oil was leaking out. They called and explained the repairs, completed the job within their very reasonable quote, and returned my compass better than expected and essentially in near new condition. I couldn't recommend them more.
