I put a request in back in September for an island getaway house For pony penning week of this year, they said they would mail me everything after the New Year. I have not received anything.I went in to my Spam mail (which I don't usually check)and found an emailsaying that they rented it out to someone else. The sad part is I wanted to pay everything up front in September and now their say and I don't even have the place and to find something else because they rented it to someone else. RecommendedI've used other rental companies in the past, but Island Getaways is by far the best rental company going. Everyone there is so attentive to your needs. They make the stay a pleasure.
I've been renting from Island Getaways for over a decade. It's the only rental company I've used on Chincoteague for many years. I've always found them easy to deal with, and the properties where as advertised. I've rented from at least a half dozen different properties. Today IG did me a huge service by returning a favor pair of earrings I left behind this past weekend. I'd recommend them as a Go To on one of my favorite islands.

Absolutey terrible all together. Customer Service terrible . I had to cancel my vacation unfortunately & gave them plenty of notice lost $500 . They told me if it got rented again that week I would get 450 bc of a cancelation fee but when it came down to it I got 145 bc they added all these unknown fees and excuses. They made so many excuses. Also going to the BBB to report this company. Do not use this Company you will be sorry . They will make up fees & take your money . First time staying in one of your rentals and was slightly disappointed in the Blue Heron. There were several light bulbs that weren't working....we replaced a couple of them, the blinds in the living room weren't working properly....one couldn't be let down at all which left very little privacy, sliding door were very hard to open and close, no curtains or any window covering in the kitchen, someone left a quilt in the washer and it stunk, holes in the screened in porch (not good when there was so many mostquitos at the tim... read more

This year was the first time we had ever rented a house for our visit to Chincoteague, and Island Getaways made the experience awesome! We had a problem with the TV and refrigerator, and they fixed both very quickly. The ladies in the office were so accommodating and nice to us! We would definitely use them again!
We just had a very unfortunate experience with Island Getaways. After vacationing on the island for over 30 years, and renting through Island Getaways for the past 10, this year was a major letdown and will seriously have us reconsidering renting through them again. We booked our July 2017 house in September 2016 (with confirmations that month, in October and in February) only to find out in April 2017 that there was an error and they had rented it out to someone else. We are very sorry for any misunderstanding. Our long standing policy allows renters to re-book the same property for the following year, which many do. They have until mid October to do this. We don't start taking new reservations until after that date…See More
