Stay away from this company. Took shortcuts thats now will cost me over $4,000 to correct. They cut my air handler unit to make a part fix inside the unit. The replacement part should last ***** years it only lasted 4 years. If your home warranty dispatch them to your house request another company.

Business response:

Thank you for your enthusiastic review. Replacement parts come with a warranty of 1 year for a reason. We always give options for repair or replacement. I looked up your ticket from spring of 2019. Your cost was about $600 for a $3K job. That is great news! I am glad the replacement part lasted as long as it did! Thanks again!

If I could leave a ZERO star review I would. These people are unprofessional & they lie. When you call them on it, they become hostile, as liars do. I too have AHS, I reported Island Breeze to them & have refused to have them return to our home. *** tried to assign them to me again for heat issues & when I refused they found another vendor with whom we were very pleased. Stay away from their company.

Business response:

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. I did not see a complaint in your review though. Please let us know where we failed you in your opinion. I do not see where we have been to your home since last summer. Thanks again for your time!

WARNING: Do Not Use Island Breeze HVAC! On July 6, their technician “fixed” my air conditioner. But his “fix” only lasted 10 days. Another technician checked other areas the first incompetent tech overlooked. He said I needed an evaporator coil, and the company would get back in touch with me. When they finally got back to me, they told me that they had to order the part and it would take at least one week. One week turned into two weeks, then three, etc. It’s now September 6, two months after my first contact with them and ... read more

Business response:

Many thanks for the review. We are always striving to better ourselves. While we run over 10,000 calls a year we do try to satisfy all of our customers. I looked up your code issue and it was definitely required by NC law/code for that particular repair. We follow all rules put in place by the state of NC even the unpopular ones in your case. Do try and have a great day! Thank you for the business as well.

Wish I could give negative stars. I have quite a lot to say about this business, and none of it is good. I did NOT appreciate being blatantly lied to and their attempts to take advantage of me and my money. That is a disgusting way to run a "professional" business. They tried to charge me for "code-required" repairs that are not only NOT required, but considered luxury items. They also quoted $125 for a "state-required" LADDER for the inspector to use on the day of inspection, due to "some people lying about having a ladder ... read more

Business response:

Thank you for the review. Providing access for the inspectors is definitely code and therefore state law. The area inspectors have made it mandatory for there to be safe access for them to get into attics. When there are no attic stairs, there must be a ladder provided. A 6' ladder will not suffice for an 8' ceiling so we provide an 8' ladder for the inspectors that the customer may keep. If the customer has a safe 8' ladder (not falling apart etc.) we remove the $125 fee for the ladder we provide. This is literally our cost... read more

If you are informed by Island Breeze that you have a leak in your system, GET A SECOND OPINION IMMEDIATELY. Island Breeze told me I had a leak in my system due to "wear and tear" and "because its hot outside". This "wear and tear" leak ended up requiring my entire AC system to be replaced. Conveniently ******************** was paying for hardly anything, leaving me with a $6000 bill if I accepted. I hired a licensed contractor from a different company to look at my AC Unit. Turns out, the leak was not from "wear and tear"... read more

Business response:

Thanks for the review. I have taken a look at the pictures and videos we take on every job and it is indeed a normal refrigerant leak and not a man made hole. Hate you got bad info from the hvac contractor. Not everyone takes pics and videos like we do here at Island Breeze HVAC. Glad our system and thoroughness has come through yet again. Let us know how we can help in the future.

American Home Shield dispatched Island Breeze to resolve an HVAC issue. It took Island Breeze 5 months and 8 or so trips to finally resolve the issue. I was forced by AHS to use Island Breeze since they were the original company dispatched. In the end, it cost me $3500 out of pocket directly to Island Breeze for them to replace my unit. After confirming with other HVAC companies, Island Breeze charged me $500 for unnecessary work and $400 for a $90 thermostat. Island Breeze states that the prices are set by AHS, but AHS conf... read more

Business response:

Thank you for the review. I researched your repair and it took less than one month to actually get approved and installed. You may be confused with the fact that there were other service calls and we were just one company involved. We have no control over what your warranty company for your home covers or not. You spent $3500 for a new hvac system that retail would be far more than 7k. Sounds like you did pretty well with YOUR warranty company. We just install the systems. Again, we run over 10k calls per year and we get a ... read more

Wish I could leave them 0 stars. There is not time in a day to convey the absolute terrible level of professionalism I got from them. I paid them thousands of dollars to fix my AC unit and recharge the lines only for it to break a month later. It takes them over two weeks to come out each time and when they do, it's always the most inconvenient time and they won't work with you. I had to have them come out 6 separate times and finally I hired another company to go out and do the work, and they said that Island Breeze never c... read more

Business response:

Thank you for the review. We appreciate all of them. I verified your work and it has been completed as agreed. I will give you 5 stars for doing a review. Thanks again!

I would give 0 stars if it was an option. These people are crooks, plain and simple. I was hooked up with Island Breeze by my home warranty company after I filed a claim for a fault code coming up on my ******* thermostat. A tech came out and told me that I needed to have my condensate pump replaced and that I also had an issue with some kind of safety switch not being up to state code. The tech said he would give the info to the office and i would hear back regarding what needed to be replaced and to get the repair schedule... read more

Business response:

Thank you for your review! Another warranty company complaint. We run over 10,000 of these calls every year and without fail we get less than .05% of complaints and they are all the exact same. The customer agrees to the repair in writing....twice. Then complains that they had to pay the cost that THEIR warranty company does not cover. I reviewed the notes and this call was handled correctly. The recall was performed and the problem is fixed for the agreed amount. If I could give this customer a review of their own I woul... read more
