I have never been scammed by a company/management until dealing w/ Avalon Lakes. After living in my apartment for 3 years (3 yrs too long), I only had ONE small stain on the bedroom carpet. When I moved in, there were several pet urine stains visible from previous tenets. They informed me not only am i not getting my deposit back but I owe them because I had brand new carpet when I moved it. They do not follow lease policies. Supposed to be 2 pet limit and 25lbs. Some people have 3-4 pets and don't use leashes or pick up their poop. So watch where you walk. Mostly they have a really bad parking problem. That is if you can find a spot. There is visitor parking but most people just park where they want. So good luck. Manage makes lots of promises that they don't hold up 2. Paper thin walls and lots of dogie treasures in the green grass as long as you walk on the sidewalk you will be good. Today I listened to the next door people play guitar and they guy downstairs yelling about a game or something and they sounded like they were in my unit. Management likes to keep an eye on their new apartments and they will find reasons to enter everyone's units at least twice a month and sometimes even more. After having lived at Teal Run for 10 years, my 80-year-old mother needed to move to a senior living facility. My mother asked me to clean her apartment at Teal Run after she moved out. As I had not lived in an apartment for three decades, I was unsure as to what would be expected. (For example, should the carpet be shampooed?) Saw two totally different reviews about this place and decided to check it out. Called and talked to two different people and they gave me different answers on questions I asked. You would have thought they would be on the same page. Decided to drive out by the place and it looked great from the road. Upon driving through the complex, it became apparent that upkeep and safety is not a priority. Lousy management, very poorly insulated and no soundproofing, drafty doors and windows, loud neighbors, drugs, and outrageous heating bills. If this is what you want, then live here. If not, stay far away from this place. This place may look like a shiny apple on the outside, but it is rotten to the core.
If your looking for an apartment and are in a hurry, just look somewhere else! It has been over 4 weeks now since I've applied and still I'm left waiting for a returned phone call! I have had to drive there several times now just to get a response! I've had only empty promises of a call back and no apalogies, of course. Just a fair warning!! Don't make the same mistake!!!
