About this business

This self-styled "urban barbecue" strives to serve up the traditional flavors of a down-home barbecue with a more contemporary, modern twist. The food is delectable - try their Molasses Glazed Salmon, or their St. Louis style ribs, where the meat is so tender it falls off the bone. The desserts menu is particularly notable; it's hard to go wrong with Double Chocolate Bread Pudding or Tanya's Key Lime Pie. There is an extensive drinks menu to accompany your meal; call for reservations.

I am in town for the week, and this was one of the places that was recommended that I try. Whomever suggested Iron Star, I owe them a drink. First of all, I walked in and it immediately felt like home and felt welcoming. Service was friendly above and beyond. I ordered the Brisket Sandwich with Mac & Cheese and a cup of Chili. The brisket was great, the Mac was very good, but the highlight was that chili. I have already started telling my friends back home in Ohio that this is a must see place when they're in OKC.

First of all I love the old building and the wood floors. Our server was very nice. There were many choices on the menu that all sounded good. My meal, BBQ club sandwich with Mac & cheese, was delicious. I loved the spicy pickle slices served on the side. I wish they gave you a bowl full. The server told us the pickles were made in-house. Hubby got a combo meal. There were two of us and we spent between $40 and $45. So not cheap but not expensive. I would definitely return.
