I absolutely do not understand why this place is highly recommended for letters of support for gender-affirming care. Not only does my therapist misgender me but she consistently does not listen to what I am saying. She also specifically said and later forced me to include my mother in a therapy session and then said that in order for me to receive a letter I need to receive a letter of support from my employer. The vagueness and the back and forth is infuriating. I would never suggest this place for fellow trans individuals... read more

I stumbled on IPG based on its location and did not know what to expect. I usually made jokes about any sort of counseling and therapy like I did with a lot of things I didn't understand. Meeting Jill and having truthful talks have started to change my life. She listens, is attentive, and has the professional background to help while also having life experiences to which she can speak about. My therapist, Kelly, has provided excellent care for my needs. My needs have always been a bit different and Kelly has an abundance of knowledge in the areas that I needed and still need help with. It has been completely refreshing to go to a therapist where I did not need to explain my lifestyle. I also feel like the Institute for Personal Growth is the perfect name for this type of counseling center. Kelly has helped me grow immensely. My partner and I have greatly benefited from our sessions with James over the years. He is so easy to talk to and gives us tools that have really helped us to open communication and honor our feelings. IPG has been a wonderful support for us and I would highly recommend seeing James. His warmth and gentle character will put you at ease right away. We are so grateful for James and the folks at IPG.
