Be careful living in an area with them in charge, the amount they charge you and the frequency they charge you is ridiculous. Instead of working with the community to make it better they would rather charge you for next to nothing.
We bought our house almost a year ago and I can't say I'm very impressed. We have several bylaws that are ignored and broken. They aren't just random violations here and there either. These are violations that some people have had the entire time we've been here. People not mowing their grass (a few houses have only cut their grass a few times the entire summer). Our neighborhood switched to this HOA management company earlier this year, and somehow they’ve managed to turn something as simple as a friendly reminder into a money-making scheme. Forget an email (which worked perfectly for the last 5 years with the previous company) they’ll send you a certified letter for something trivial like “please move your trash cans” and then bill YOU $10 for it.
