Nothing new on the 30th January 2023…I would like to share this with anyone who will listen as I called this morning to ask if I can speak to a Doctor the receptionist asked why I told her that I didnt want to be discussing my problems with a receptionist she was not happy but I truly do no want to disuse me health problems with someone who is not medical, she told me that the next appointment would be next Monday I said I need to speak to someone today, without going into everything that she said to try and get me to tell w... read more

I can understand people's frustrations when trying to get appointments but I have to disagree. The practice has a very high demand for appointments and have to have some way of prioritising and scheduling them. Of course everyone wants to be seen right away but that's just not possible. If you call after 8:30 and request a GP call back, the duty doctor will call (usually within the hour) and make a phone assessment. Just rang to "try" to get an appointment for my son to see a doctor. Usual abysmal experience of sitting in a queue being told regularly by a robotic voice that the "line is very busy". I guessed this for myself by the fact that nobody was answering! Finally someone picked the phone up only to tell me that the 1st appointment with any doctor is on 24 September, just short of 6 weeks away.
