Sadly, it's been years since I've attended. The last time was with my daughter who was about 11 or 12 years old. I was wondered if the festival would be her cup of tea; thought she might be bored with 3 days of stories. To my delight she loved it all!! She laughed. She cried. She said, "Mama, can we come here again?!"
Having attended the National Storytelling Festival more than twenty times, I can easily say that many of my dearest lifetime memories are from sitting in those Jonesborough tents.
I grew up with stories, I hope to pass to my niece her heritage.
