BEWARE. Recently purchased a modern Rolex wristwatch based on IGL’s appraisal. Unfortunately the watch was a counterfeit. I spoke to Jack Hanania, one of the owner’s and the appraiser of the specific piece at mention, directly on the phone, he admitted the watch was never opened to verify authenticity. He admitted a mistake was made and that the appraisal SHOULD have stated it was never opened. Utilized the services of Jack at IGL for certification of a gemstone purchased online, it turned out to be synthetic despite purchasing it as a natural stone. The certificate was invaluable for the dispute against the merchant. Can't recommend them enough!

I had the pleasure of talking to Jack today as I looked into a very specific question that I knew would be difficult in regards to a small opal ring needing to be resized.
